NorthStar Care & Guidance supports adults on the autism spectrum and individuals with developmental disabilities when caregiving demands, medical or psychiatric needs, or long-term planning concerns become increasingly complex.
Our work is particularly helpful for families navigating the challenges of aging caregivers-when parents begin to worry about sustainability, future care, or how best to coordinate services across systems. We provide comprehensive assessment, care coordination, advocacy, and ongoing involvement to help families anticipate risks, prevent crises, and maintain continuity of care.
We do not replace clinical, educational, or programmatic services. Instead, we work alongside existing providers to integrate medical, behavioral, legal, and financial considerations into a cohesive, workable plan-remaining involved as circumstances change over time.
Families often reach out when they feel overwhelmed, uncertain about next steps, or concerned about what the future may hold. Our role is to help clarify options, reduce risk, and provide steady guidance through periods of transition.
When Families Reach Out
How We Help
We provide:
Our experience in geriatric and psychiatric care management allows us to help families anticipate change rather than react to it.
A Focus on Aging Caregivers
Many of the families we assist are led by parents in their 60s, 70s, or 80s who have provided extraordinary long-term care and are now asking: “What happens when I can’t do this anymore?”
We help families approach that question thoughtfully, realistically, and proactively.
Service Area
We serve the Metropolitan New York City area, including Northern New Jersey and surrounding suburbs.
